FlamenKCMO presents a music and dance timeline of flamenco from the end of the 19th century to modern times. With Hector Aguirre on guitar, Antonio Rojas singing, Michael McClintock on guitar, trés and bass, John Currey on drums and Melinda Hedgecorth dancing, flamenco will be explained through commentary and illustrated through performance. Topics covered will be: where flamenco comes from, our connections with sister city Sevilla Spain, interesting instruments used in flamenco, influence from other cultures and flamenco in our world today.
