Future Forum: Increasing Access to the Arts through the RideKC Streetcar Extension | March 27 6:00 p.m | Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art | Public Forum
5:00 p.m. cash bar | 6:00 p.m. panel and discussion
Beginning as early as 2024, the RideKC Streetcar Main Street Extension will result in service to even more neighborhoods and cultural attractions in the heart of Kansas City, including the neighborhood of Southmoreland (with stops at 43rd and 45th Streets) which contains three of the most significant arts organizations in the region: Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, Kansas City Art Institute, and The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, where well over half a million visitors combined visit each year to enjoy art-related activities.
What does the next decade hold for this “cultural arts district” and what opportunities and challenges might this new development in urban transportation encounter? How do these institutions plan to prepare? Join the conversation with visionaries who will share how one local neighborhood is poised to lead the way in thinking big about the future of visual arts in Kansas City and beyond.
