In response to the Coronavirus pandemic and stay-at-home guidelines issued by the government and the CDC, Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey (KCFAA) is transitioning its annual fundraising gala into its first Virtual Gala on May 2.
While the format of the 2020 Gala is different, the virtual event will include exciting performances from Ailey II and KCFAA students. In addition, KCFAA will recognize its 2020 Gala honorees: Bert Berkley, Marcia and Lon Lane, Phyllis Washington and Cristina Starks during the event.
Monies raised from the virtual gala will help KCFAA continue to provide transformational dance education programs for youth throughout the Greater Kansas City area and Topeka. Virtual tickets cost $100 and sponsorships are available. Contributions are 100% tax deductible and allow for special on-line access to the exclusive virtual event.
