A workshop walking through the intuitive and planned stages of Sannit’s process.
Born Cleveland, OH 1960. Patricia Sannit received her BA in ceramics, Art History and
Norwegian from the University of Minnesota and her MFA from the California College of Arts. She now lives in Phoenix, Arizona. Sannit’s work is influenced by her experiences excavating in the Near East and Ethiopia. Patricia is an artist who uses found and repurposed clay as a material to explore connections and coincidences in our shared humanity. Sannit has used this medium as the basis of a sculptural investigation connecting geologic time, archaeology and history across a multitude of cultures.
In this workshop, Sannit will walk through the intuitive and planned stages of
her process. She will explain the nuances of form and surface. Then participants will be let
loose to create their own objects, employing her techniques to amplify both their functional
pottery forms and sculptural endeavors.
