VIRTUAL - Happy Hour Hangouts, featuring author Steve Paul

Presented by Friends of the Kansas City Public Library at Kansas City Public Library - Central Library

Pour a beverage, get comfortable and settle in for an intimate, laid-back, happy hour from the comfort of your own home where you'll get to know some of Kansas City's unique residents!
We are thrilled to host author Steve Paul as our first guest. This will be part interview, part reading, part Q & A and a totally great way to spend an early mid-week evening! Hosted live by Karla Deel. Steve Paul retired in 2016 after nearly 50 years toiling in the trenches at The Kansas City Star, beginning as a sports-desk clerk and capping his career of writing and editing as Editorial Page Editor and Opinion columnist. He since has hung a shingle as a literary biographer. His Hemingway at Eighteen appeared in 2017, and he is currently working on what would be the first book about the writer Evan S. Connell. A former board member of the National Book Critics Circle and an active member of the international Ernest Hemingway Society, he has just joined the board of the Biographers International Organization. He also writes regularly for KC Studio, the regional arts bimonthly magazine, and serves on the board of Historic Kansas City, for which he wrote and edited a walking guide to the Country Club Plaza (2016).
