HCM Virtual Festival July 27 – July 31, 2020, in partnership with the Carlsen Center. Busy that week? All subscribers will have access to the pre-recorded and live-streamed events for 14 days following the festival.
The 2020 Heartland Chamber Music Festival has moved ONLINE to maintain social distancing keeping our students and faculty safe. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to attend a world-class String Virtual Festival. HCM’s Virtual Festival has something for everyone, whether you’re an accomplished musician, a school orchestra/youth symphony string student looking for summer learning activities to sharpen their skills and keep practicing, or simply a music lover who wants to watch performances, meet and greet other, and see some of the best music educators teach students. During the 5- day virtual festival, subscribers will enjoy a streaming performance of the Grammy Award-Winning Parker Quartet, watch the quartet taking you behind the scene to the process of their music-making, decoding the language of Beethoven's music, and answering your questions in live Q & A. Subscribers will also have the opportunity to meet and greet virtually with other festival participants, join the conversation in the festival workshops, and a lunch Zoom session with Jason Seber, the assistant conductor of Kansas City Symphony. Jazz violinist, Adam Galblum, will lead you on an exploration into a different world and style of music-making and guide you through the first composition of your very own Jazz creation. Lastly, subscribers will have the access to watch and learn from all the masterclasses with the Parker Quartet members and the Concertmaster of New York Philharmonic, Frank Huang, while they work with 15 selected festival students. The masterclasses are available exclusively to virtual festival subscribers by audition."
