Statement
Since the first time I watched my father gut a wild turkey at a young age, I have been deeply fascinated, confused, and repulsed by the anatomy of my body.

What I can see on the outside and what I cannot see on the inside
What goes in, stays, and flows through my body

Through my work, I am trying to resolve the shame, guilt, and comfort I felt about food. I am interested in creating disgustingly beautiful spaces where I can accept and exploit my suppressed anxiety, forcing viewers to do the same.

I am trying to resist the shame I am conditioned to feel about my imperfect, female body
I am trying to focus on my body’s capability to grow and heal itself

While my work incorporates numerous materials and dimensions, I stay true to my fascinations and curiosities. I am trying to answer questions and discover meaning in the space where feminism, the body, and food meet, and where my work comes alive.
