To say that making this film was cathartic would be an understatement. It’s a direct reflection of the wide emotional swings I've experienced throughout my life and even more so since the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless others. As black men, trauma is inherent; but despite the burden we carry and the obstacles we face, finding joy and a spirit of perseverance is the truest act of resistance. My hope is that this film inspires others to keep going, keep fighting, and through it all...seek joy.- Morgan Cooper
Aggie (2020)Director: Catherine GundDocumentary, running time 1h 32min
Aggie is a feature-length documentary that explores the nexus of art, race, and justice through the story of art collector and philanthropist Agnes “Aggie” Gund’s life. Emmy-nominated director Catherine Gund focuses on her mother’s journey to give viewers an understanding of the power of art to transform consciousness and inspire social change. Aggie is internationally recognized for her robust and prescient support of artists—particularly women and people of color—and her unwavering commitment to social justice issues. For more information, visit the film's website or the Aubin Pictures Instagram.
