Virtual Día de los Muertos | Oct. 14-Nov. 1 |the 10th annual Día de los Muertos celebration is going virtual | Nelson-Atkins.org
This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 10th annual Día de los Muertos celebration is going virtual! Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a celebration with gatherings of family and friends to honor and remember deceased relatives and popular figures. The Mexican tradition is observed throughout the Kansas City-metro area, often with festivals, parades, music, and ofrendas, or altars. The Nelson-Atkins is honored to continue its tradition of celebrating and observing this important holiday for our Kansas City communities. You can find Spanish translation of virtual content on our website.
