The first concert of our 20th season will feature favorites from the traditional wind band repertoire, such as George Washington Bridge, Irish Tune from County Derry and Lincolnshire Posy conducted by our new Musical Director, Dr. Langston Hemenway.
The Kansas City Wind Symphony opens its 20th season at the Village Church in Prairie Village with a new conductor at its helm. Dr. Langston Hemenway, Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Instrumental Studies at William Jewell College, will conduct his first concert as our Musical Director.
The program (below) features favorites from the traditional wind band repertoire, as well as a few perhaps not as familiar pieces.
