This FREE program runs from Saturday, March 6 – May 22, 2021, from 3:00 – 4:00 pm (No class on March 20 and April 3). The location is Liberty United Methodist Church (100 Rush Creek Pkwy, Liberty, MO 64068). The classes may be conducted virtually.
This project series helps participants to discover various Chinese art forms – brush painting, calligraphy, and Chinese paper folding. Participants will experience different Chinese artistic tools, such as brushes, treated rice paper, ink, Chinese painting pigment, and Origami paper. Participants will be instructed, by a professional, on how to hold a brush properly, control the motion of the brush, and balance the mixing of water and ink and get familiar with the amazing potential of this special medium. Participants will also learn how to fold Origami paper to create panda, bunny, and fish. The program is for K-12 participants from public schools in KC Northland, including the public school districts in Smithville, Liberty, Parkhill, North Kansas City, Kansas City, and etc.
