2021 ArtsKC Advocacy Workshop

2021 ArtsKC Advocacy Workshop

Presented by ArtsKC – Regional Arts Council at Online/Virtual Space

The event is open to the public, but registration is required.

Every year the Missouri legislature considers many different bills and pieces of legislation that could have a direct impact on our arts community, and 2021 is already gearing up to be no exception. Not only will legislation impacting the arts be considered, but bills including relief spending, housing, jobs, and tax will make their way to the Governor’s desk, as well.

Join ArtsKC and Missouri Citizens for the Arts on Friday, January 29, at 3PM, to hear about the most important pieces of legislation being considered, how you can help ensure the voice of the arts is being heard, and hear directly from the legislators involved in the process.
We will be joined by…
Host, Branden Haralson, ArtsKC
Kyna Iman, MCA
Steph Scupham, KC Film Office
Sen. Lauren Arthur (17) & Appropriations Committee Member
Sen. Greg Razer (7)
Sen. Barbara Washington (9)
Rep. Patty Lewis (25)
Rep. Emily Weber (24)
Rep. Doug Richey (38)
Plus more to come!!

The goal of this session is to prepare our arts advocates to use their skills and knowledge at Citizens’ Day for the Arts on February 3, 2021. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this year will be an all-virtual experience, but will be just as necessary and impactful as every year.
