Native Kansas Citian Charles D. Williams has played piano for more than 40 years. He was a member of the award-winning Sumner Jazz Band that attended the Paris International Jazz Festival in 1972 and was judged to be “the best High School Band in the World.“ Today, Williams performs as the pianist for The Kansas City Jazz Orchestra and also plays with the Louis Neal Orchestra. Williams has launched his newest group, GENRE, consisting of four guys playing smooth jazz and funk. He has accompanied many legendary local Kansas City jazz artists such as Ida McBeth, Angela Hagenbach, The McFadden Brothers and many more.
