A visual arts and performing arts festival
The festival follows street painting traditions that originated in 16th century Renaissance Italy, when artists began transforming brick into canvas using chalk. The festival includes street performers, a Children's Creative Corridor, where children can chalk for free, and over 60 chalk art muralists, including 3D and Master Chalk artists.
The festival is a 2-day event in Kansas City, Missouri. Our mission, that of "promoting awareness and appreciation of the arts" is achieved at the two day event, and through various demonstrations and activities throughout the city, pre and post festival. The primary artistic component of our festival consists of chalk renderings completed within 2 days by 60 to 80 art teams.
