Beyond 2020 Vision, with Guest Curators Rebeka Pech Moguel and Carlos Ortiz-Gallo

Presented by Kiosk Gallery at Kiosk Gallery

On Friday, March 25th, 2022, 6-9 PM, Kiosk will host an opening reception for the third Guest Curator Session of our community-based mail art project, Beyond 2020 Vision. For this round of selections, Rebeka Pech Moguel and Carlos Ortiz-Gallo of La Onda will share their points of view on the project. Over the course of 2020, we set aside a space for the artists in our community and around the country to respond to the unprecedented circumstances and dream for the future. We began the open call with a prompt: In 2020, the ever-present injustices of our world were revealed in powerful and compelling ways. How can you create lasting change? How has your imagination been activated to new possibilities? What do you want to remember about this moment in history? What does the view look like from your window? We installed works on our walls as they arrived in the mail, and invited guest curators to make selections of work from the submissions. In spring of 2021, marcus scott williams and A. Andresia curated groups of works, and made their own creative responses to what they saw. Now, our third Guest Curator Session features selections by Rebeka Pech Moguel and Carlos Ortiz-Gallo of La Onda.
