Music from the Age of Enlightenment: Music in Colonial America

Music from the Age of Enlightenment: Music in Colonial America

Presented by Kansas City Baroque Consortium at Visitation Parish

In this third and final concert of the 2022 summer series: Music in Colonial America, we head west across the Atlantic Ocean to Colonial America. Still very young, and under heavy European influence, American born composers are searching for a new musical identity of their own. (We also peek at what the French think of this bold new American experiment!) Heavy in the choral school of singing, we will also premiere a commissioned work by American composer, Michael Welsh, written especially for the Kansas City Baroque!
