About the Musicians Brooke Knoll is a harpist from the Twin Cities metro area, now based in Kansas City. Musically inclined from a young age, she has been playing since the age of six. She has been taught traditional harp as well as the Suzuki method, and also has background in piano and cello. Brooke had the honor of being a member of the '15-'16 MN All State Orchestra. She also was a soloist for the MacPhail Concerto and Aria concert, as well as for her high school's concerto competition. She has played with a myriad of ensembles, including the University of Minnesota Symphony Orchestra and the MacPhail Faculty Orchestra. A fanatic of modern and contemporary music, Krista Kopper is a versatile double and electric bassist. She has traveled the country playing musicals as well as performing and recording works for the double bass written by twentieth and twenty-first century composers. Krista also deeply enjoys working with composers and to that end has commissioned multiple new solo and chamber pieces for the bass. As an avid improviser, she also delights in exploring the infinite variety of sounds that a double bass can produce. She has degrees from Wichita State University and a masters degree in double bass performance from The Hartt School where she studied with Robert Black. Krista is also the creator and host of The Backstage Creative, a podcast that focuses on the people who work behind the scenes of theater. She currently creates and performs in the Kansas City area. Evan Verploegh is a drummer based in Kansas City, Missouri. He serves as co-founder of the Extemporaneous Music and Arts Society with Seth Andrew Davis. The EMAS is dedicated to advancing improvised and experimental artistic work in Kansas City. Committed to improvisation as an artform, Evan draws from influences of free jazz, contemporary classical, and experimental rock. He has performed with notable improvisors such as Damon Smith, Kyle Hutchins, Kyle Quass, Michael Eaton, and Bob Bucko Jr.
