MTC Kids Jam – KC Spotlight with Jim

MTC Kids Jam – KC Spotlight with Jim "Mr. Stinky Feet" Cosgrove, Dino O'Dell and Funky Mama

Presented by Midwest Trust Center at Johnson County Community College at Midwest Trust Center at Johnson County Community College

Dino O’Dell’s interactive songs and amazing tall tales engage curiosity, inspire laughter and stir the imagination. Prior to 2003, O’Dell was an elementary music and drama teacher by day and a folk/rock/reggae musician by night. With nearly two decades of experience as a family entertainer, his live shows and studio recordings reflect both his time as an educator and as a performer.
He’s a master at tricking kids into learning! By using anything from a counting song to fill-in-the-blank lyric writing to a sing-along, his stories and music tap into an audience’s innate desire to comprehend, communicate and connect.
Jim “Mr. Stinky Feet” Cosgrove has logged more than 4,000 performances in 38 U.S. states and seven countries over the past two decades, including two performances on the south lawn of The White House as part of its annual Easter egg roll. His YouTube channel has more than 2.3 million views. Cosgrove’s nine family albums have earned critical acclaim and an impressive collection of national parenting awards, including eight Parents’ Choice Awards. He also has published three children’s books based on his beloved songs.
Funky Mama, Krista Tatschl Eyler, is energy personified. Eyler’s powerful blues-drenched voice sounds like she would be right at home singing with any of the great soul singers of the ‘60s, rocking out to rock ‘n’ roll, taking the stage at the Grand Ole Opry, singing folksy jug band standards, belting one out with the best of Louisiana’s Zydeco bands or soaring over the top of a mesmerizing up-tempo gospel group. Mostly though, Funky Mama’s music is just plain fun.
