A creative space of expression full of safety, connection, compassion, and fun. May include and not limited to performances of poetry, story, dance, comedy, improve, acrobatics, drag, music, visual art or other forms of creative expression. You can share ANY personal experiences that inspire connection. Performers are diverse members of the local community and the surrounding area with experiences related to suicide. -- !! TRIGGER WARNING !!CW: suicideWords Save Lives | KCAC September is Suicide Awareness MonthSaturday, Sept 10 2 p.m. - 5 p.m.     In honor of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, Poet Jen Harris is hosting a Words Save Lives event at Kansas City Artists Coalition Saturday, September 10 from 2-5 p.m. in conjunction with multiple simultaneous events occurring statewide, led by KS Poet Laureate Huascar Medina, founded in 2013 by Marcia Epstein, LMSW.   If you have any experience re: suicide and want to share your story, please sign up to read / perform your work (in person) on the subject: impact of suicide, grief, endurance, healing, overcoming ... anyway that this subject resonates with you - we want to hear from you.   We need to hear from you.   A sign up form is below.   A podium and a microphone will be available on site day of. Performances can be 3-15 minutes in any genre. Musicians should expect to perform acoustically.   Thank you for being brave.   Sign up here.
