Born to a Puerto-Rican family, Carlos Rolón’s background allows the artist to explore notions that deal with questions of inclusion, aspiration and cultural identity. Rolón’s early career developed as part of the 1980s street culture, disco and punk culture. Rolón’s lowrider bike sculpture is part of The Nerman Museum’s permanent collection and is currently on display as both a stunning work of art and a functional object that explores its relationship to art history and the institution. Livestreaming options are available. In-person event features lowriders and a taco truck.
