Making Movies Announce CELEBRATE AMERI’KANA Festival featuring Two-time Grammy-nominated, Rhythm + Flow season 1 Winner, D SMOKE.
The day-long festival focuses on Black, Latino, Immigrant, & Indigenous artists, and a portion of the proceeds benefit Art as Mentorship to fund mental health-focused music education to youth in underserved communities free music programing in Kansas City.
Featuring: Making Movies with Special Guests David Hidalgo & Steve Berlin of Los Lobos; Mireya - Latin Grammy-winning founder of all-female-mariachi super group Flor de Toloache; Asdru Sierra of Ozomatli - LA-based Latin, hiphop, and rock band; The Sensational Barnes Brothers - gospel, soul duo from Memphis, TN; Amado Espinoza - KC-based Indigenous rocker and traditional instrumentalist, and D Smoke, winner of Rhythm + Flow season 1.
The free community event from 1pm-4pm features a local maker and artisan market with 20 local vendors, as well as performances from 123 Andrés, Art as Mentorship’s Rebel Song Academy, and Harmony Project KC. General admission and VIP tickets on sale now HERE!

This family-friendly event features a free block party during the day and a ticketed evening concert at CrossroadsKC with a diverse lineup of national acts including David Hidalgo and Steve Berlin of Los Lobos and Making Movies.
Celebrate AMERI'KANA supports Art as Mentorship, a Kansas City non-profit that empowers young artists to write their own success stories.
