Hitomi and Takuro Shibata are potters from Shigaraki, Japan, and owners of STUDIO TOUYA in Seagrove, North Carolina. They make utilitarian pottery and sculptural work using wild clays, and wood firing techniques. In this demonstration, you will learn how they use natural materials with traditional Japanese pottery making techniques.
