The East Hill Singers is a program of Arts in Prison. Arts in Prison uses the arts to inspire and motivate positive change in the incarcerated, to reduce recidivism and to reconnect offenders to their community. Since 1995 this group has provided concert opportunities to incarcerated men to see themselves as more than the worst moments of their life, to be valued as artists and humans. The choir consists of minimum security inmates from Lansing Correctional Facility and volunteer singers from the greater Kansas City area. Almost all incarcerated persons will be returned to the community. They can come back with hate in their hearts or hope in their eyes. What better way to meet than to meet in music!
