Olivier Latry, organist of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, Organ Concert @ Bales Recital Hall, University of Kansas
Please join us for an upcoming concert featuring Notre-Dame organist Olivier Latry. The musician, who was displaced by the cathedral fire in 2019, is the William T. Kemper Artist-in-Residence at KU. He is set to play Bales Organ Recital Hall on Tuesday, November 1st, 2022, at 7:30 p.m. Right now there are only two locations to study with the renowned organist: at the Paris Conservatory and here at the University of Kansas. The upcoming concert is part of Latry’s teaching residence at the KU School of Music. Program – Cortege et Litanie (Marcel Dupré), Salve Regina (Olivier Latry), and Symphony No. 6 (Louis Vierne). Latry improvised Salve Regina as part of a live concert in Bales Recital Hall and later transcribed and published the work. Olivier Latry is the William T. Kemper Artist-in-Residence at KU and visits once each semester for teaching and performing.
