Naomi Shihab Nye has published more than a dozen books of poetry and fiction, most recently “Cast Away: Poems for Our Time” (Greenwillow Books, 2020) and “The Tiny Journalist” (BOA Editions, 2019). A singular voice in American letters, Nye writes poems of empathy and insight, inspired by her Arab American experience, her connection to the Southwest United States, and her attention to the displaced and marginalized. Nye served as a Chancellor of the Academy of American Poets from 2010 to 2015, and she has received numerous awards including National Book Critics Circle Lifetime Achievement Award.
