Kansas City Baroque Consortium presents the third of a three-concert series “A Bohemian Rhapsody.” August 18 at 7:30 pm. Visitation Catholic Church, 5141 Main St, Kansas City, MO. Featuring music of Czech, Moravian and Austrian composers.
In 2022, KCBC took audiences on a journey through music of the Enlightenment. This summer, instead of a flurry of travel, we are opting for a “staycation” in one of Europe’s most iconic cities: Vienna.
In the words of KCBC Artistic/Executive Director, Trilla Ray-Carter: “The 2023 Summer Series explores music that played vital roles in Habsburg Courts of the 17th and 18th centuries, from ‘preferred’ Italian music at the Imperial Court of Vienna to music for Austrian Holy Roman Emperors outside of Vienna, to the remarkable works of outliers – Bohemian court composers we rarely hear today.” Featured on this final concert of the 2023 series, “A Bohemian Rhapsody,” will include works by Biber, Zelinka, Finger and Muffat.
