Beloved carols and treasured classics by The William Baker Festival Singers in the candlelight splendor of two of America’s most beautiful cathedrals.
The William Baker Festival Singers join with the majesty of pipe organs in the candlelight splendor of Kansas City's glorious cathedrals. Our 20th annual program of readings, classics and traditional carols for all to sing has become one of Kansas City's beloved holiday traditions.
Choral selections include O MAGNUM MYSTERIUM by Composer-in-Residence Ed Frazier Davis, GLORIA by Kansas City composer Sean Sweden, and STAR IN THE EAST, a suite of Appalachian carols for chorus, soloists and hammer dulcimer. Traditional carols for all to sing include O COME ALL YE FAITHFUL, WHAT CHILD IS THIS and HARK THE HERALD ANGELS SING.
As part of the city-wide celebration of the Festival Singers' 20th anniversary season in 2017-2018, guest ensembles are joining in performances. Our special guests for this concert is the Madrigal Chorus of Spring Hill High School under the direction of Georann Whitman.
