Brazilian pianist Nelson Freire is an international tour de force, having performed in over seventy countries collaborating with the world’s leading orchestras, conductors, and artists. With a career spanning over five decades, Freire’s awards and accolades are too many to list and among the most prestigious in each country that has bestowed them.

His program features works by Chopin, Schumann, Albéniz, and Villa-Lobos — the latter, a composer of Freire’s native Brazil. The scope of Freire’s artistry will be evident when he performs works that range from the most intimate of miniatures to the largest of warhorses.
