Ask My Creatures: A Clay Exploration by Huey Lee
Embark on a journey of self-discovery and imaginative narratives in "Ask My Creatures," an exhibition featuring a new body of clay works by Huey Lee, Resident Artist at Kc Clay Guild. Delving into his identity, Lee transforms his hidden messages into a visual language, exploring desires that become a unique vehicle of communication within society.
In this exhibition, Lee presents a series of whimsical figures inspired by animations and digital cartoons, infusing a sense of humor into his creations. Characters like Tiger, Dragon, Demon & Angel with Huey come to life, each embodying temptations and wishes from Lee's inner voice. These figures compose narratives that spark imaginative curiosity, inviting viewers to explore their own desires.Lee provocatively asks, "What the creature of mine appeals to you? And what narrative do you want to create with him together?" This question adds a personal and collaborative dimension, encouraging viewers not only to reflect on their inner creatures but also to consider a shared narrative or connection with the artist.Join us in this captivating exploration of clay as a medium for self-expression, where Lee's creatures become the protagonists of a visual diary, revealing the spectrum of emotions and desires that shape our human experience.
