Philharmonia of Greater Kansas City Fall Premiere

American-themed music highlights the premiere concert of the Philharmonia of Greater Kansas City ‘s 2017-18 season on Sunday, Oct. 29 at 4 pm at Grand Avenue Temple United Methodist Church, 205 E. 9th in downtown Kansas City. Under the baton of conductor Raffaele Cipriano, the orchestra will perform selections from Dvorak’s “New World Symphony,” Bernstein’s “West Side Story” and Copland’s “Fanfare for the Common Man.” This marks the orchestra’s 30th season and the second season for Cipriano, an Italian conductor, composer, pianist and computer scientist who is in the DMA program in Orchestral Conducting at the University of Kansas. Doors open at 3:30 pm and refreshments will be served at intermission.
