Musica Vocale is a 24-member ensemble made up of highly skilled choral musicians that performs choral literature, often accompanied by orchestra, that is not often performed in the greater Kansas City Metropolitan Area.
Our early-spring concert, Shared Music Transcends Time, features music that acknowledges Musica Vocale's decade-long history of "Uniting friends - singers, instrumentalists, and audiences - in exceptional experiences of choral music."
Central to this program's focus are works by Brahms and Bach and their relationship to modern compositions.
A work by the English poet Francis Warner (a pupil of C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkein, and Ralph Vaughan Williams) will be featured alongside new works by composers with local connections, including Stewart Duncan, Anthony Maglione, Ian David Coleman, and Geoffrey Wilcken. This program makes use of a small instrumental ensemble.
Musica Vocale is thrilled to announce its 2017-2018 season!
We join with the Kansas City Chamber Orchestra for a holiday program. Concerts will take place in familiar spaces as well as new spaces, including the unique and
beautiful Grand Hall at Power & Light.
Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors. Students tickets are free.
Tickets available online or at the door.
