Performing songs from their second album, Flagship Romance will visit the Olathe Indian Creek Library on August 2 as part of their year-long tour.
Shawn Fisher and Jordyn Jackson describe their music as “harmonic alternative folk.” The husband-and-wife team frequently devote two-thirds of the calendar year to touring. Fisher's guitar-playing hints at his years as a front man for a popular Southern rock band, and Jackson's powerful voice still carries a croon developed singing jazz standards in studios and on stage. At first blush, it's difficult to imagine the harmonies produced by this pair onstage, but when the room fills with their tunes, it's infectious. How can just two voices and a guitar bring such pleasure?
In addition to earning an Official Showcase at the Folk Alliance Conference twice, the pair were voted Concerts in Your Home 2014 Artists of the Year, and built a fan base that contributed $24,000 to a Kickstarter campaign for the duo's second album.
