The Philharmonia will present its annual Christmas concert, “Joyous Noel,” on Sunday, Dec. 10 at 4 pm at Grand Avenue Temple United Methodist Church, 205 E. 9th St in downtown Kansas City.
The Philharmonia of Greater Kansas City will present its annual Christmas concert, “Joyous Noel,” on Sunday, Dec. 10. Under the baton of music director and conductor Raffaele Cipriano, the orchestra will perform selections from Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker Suite,” “Finlandia” by Sibelius, and “Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana” by Mascagni.
Selections from Handel’s “Messiah” and Bach’s “Magnificat “ will feature countertenor Zachary Cope. There will also be a Christmas sing-along. The North Cross UMC Handbell Choir will perform before the concert and during intermission. Doors open at 3:30 pm. Refreshments will be served at intermission.
Tickets are $10 for adults; $5 for students and seniors; children under 12 are free. Tickets available at the door or online at www.kcphilharmonia.org. Doors open at 3:30 pm.
