Town Pavilion is commissioning a local artist to create a piece of suspended public art that reflects the spirit of the Kansas City community. The design should be emblematic of Town Pavilion’s contemporary, forward-looking perspective; passion for community and the arts; and imaginative. The space designated for this artwork is a public rotunda located in the newly renovated Town Pavilion building at 1111 Main Street on the northeast corner of 12th and Main Streets in Downtown Kansas City, Missouri.

The space features large, western-facing windows that capture the mid-afternoon light. The area is highly visible and highly trafficked by business tenants and the general public. The space will also be used for receptions and available for event rental. In addition to the commissioned suspended artwork, there will be other visual and sculptural art in and immediately surrounding the rotunda. The commissioned artwork must be appropriate for all audiences.
