The New Theatre Scholarship Guild  was founded in 1994 by Dodie Brown, a veteran actor well know by theatre goers in Kansas City. The New Theatre Scholarship Guild was organized for charitable and educational purposes. The Guild enables the education of future theatre arts professionals in Kansas and Missour through scholarships and grants. The New Theatre Guild’s Scholarship Fund is managed through a partnership with the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation. Scholarships go to students of theater at UMKC, KU, K-State, and UCM.
