Created in 2016 by master teacher Bryant Williams, the Kansas City Jazz Dance Intensive has quickly become of the largest jazz dance events in the midwest. KCJDI was developed to be a welcoming, empowering space for dancers where they can learn from industry greats right here in Kansas City. With so many programs to choose from and an ever changing dance industry, our goal is to bring diverse and vital jazz dance opportunities to Kansas City. This is a space where dancers can train, grow, and develop in small, personalized experiences. Far from getting lost in a convention ballroom. This niche experience takes dancers to the next level, allows for multiple opportunities at each of our jazz dance events, and takes the guess work out of deciding which dance program to choose. Regardless of studio affiliation, KCJDI is a professional opportunity that allows you to step out of your comfort zone and discover yourself as an artist.

Now in it’s 7th season, KCJDI continues to inspire, empower and train dancers through our world class dance experiences.

COVID-19 UPDATES & INFORMATION

Our Response to COVID-19 :

We wanted to take some time to address some of the concerns regarding the uncertainty of COVID-19 as we enter the Summer. We are absolutely committed to hosting an IN PERSON event and will adapt to meet all health and safety requirements to ensure it is a safe and healthy event. KCJDI is continually monitoring the ever changing local and national guidelines set by the CDC. The situation is fluid throughout the country and we have been able to adjust our policies in order to best protect the health of our KCJDI dance family. We have been, and will always be committed to the health and wellbeing of our dancers, faculty and staff.

Below you will find some updates regarding our COVID-19 policies. Please note that these are subject to change as guidelines continue to change throughout the midwest. We will announce any additional changes via our website and will finalize all healthy and safety protocols no later than 30 days prior to the experience.

KCJDI will continue with additional cleaning and sanitation protocols. All common areas will be disinfected at the start of each day and all dance spaces will be cleaned and disinfected throughout the day. The venue will also have increased cleaning of all surfaces, handrails, barres, etc.

KCJDI has been working with our host venue, The Kansas City Ballet School, to meet local safety regulations and will continue to adjust additional cleanliness and safety policies based on local and venue guidelines.

All merchandise and registration transactions will be cashless. There will be a no try-on & no exchange policy for all merchandise.

All dancers/faculty/observers will be required to wear CDC recommended masks during KCJDI experience classes. There will be no vaccine exemptions from mask requirements.

Observers bracelets will be limited due to venue capacity limits and local requirements. KCJDI reserves to right the cancel observer passes and will refund all observer bracelets if this is deemed necessary.

Please check our website as well as our social media channels for more updates.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. We truly look forward to a time when these safety measures will no longer be necessary and in the meantime will continue to ensure KCJDI is a safe and healthy place for everyone.

As always, if there are any additional questions, please email us at info@kcjdi.org.
