Barbara Drexel Bescher established Drexel Hall is 1910. As an immigrant and single mother of seven, Drexel took her business savvy from her small vegetable stand in the River Market and founded an event space in the up-and-coming midtown district. By 1925, Drexel Hall had become a Kansas City architectural landmark. Since its opening, Drexel Hall has hosted thousands of gatherings from small suffragette meetings to large Italian weddings. Its stunning, open-air interiors, convenient location, and historical significance continue to draw hundreds looking for an unparalleled event space every year.

Drexel Hall was purchased by the Kansas City Irish Center in 2016. In addition to continuing to make the space available to individuals and organizations for a variety of events and performances, it is also home to year-round activities celebrating Irish culture and heritage.
