Continuing Education at the Kansas City Art Institute presents Mixed Media and Collage, for creative adults ages 18+. By exploring new materials and the history of mixed media, students will begin to develop their own visual language. An emphasis will be placed on applying color theory and finding inspiration from the masters. Through these investigations, students will learn and adapt techniques using drawing, painting, monoprint and collage. This course is great for aspiring artists wanting to develop their own voice. Short lectures from the instructor will occur weekly, providing contemporary and historical references such as Henri Matisse, Hannah Hoch and Ellen Gallagher.
