To conclude its 27th season, Musica Sacra Chorus and Orchestra will perform one of the world’s most popular sacred choral masterpieces, the Requiem, by French composer Gabriel Fauré at 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, in the Arrupe Hall auditorium.
Music Sacra concludes 27th Season with Fauré’s Requiem.
Fauré began work on his composition in late 1887. Many of the most popular sections of the Requiem were not part of the original draft. The famous Libera Me baritone solo and chorus were originally composed as a separate work and added in 1891. The opening and closing movements were the final sections composed in 1894.

Tickets are $22 adults, $12 for students and senior citizens. Free parking is available in the garage at 52nd Street and Troost Avenue and in all campus lots accessed through the University’s entrance at 54th Street and Troost Avenue. See rockhurst.edu/map.
