Perfect for teachers who are looking to polish their technical abilities in preparation for increased Family and Consumer Sciences curricula. Previous sewing machine and garment construction experience is essential.
Teachers will:
· Learn basic pattern drafting and draping of the bodice, skirt, and pants;
· Advance knowledge of industrial sewing machine functions, parts, and maintenance; and
· Become knowledgeable about many types of fabric.
Basic fabric for product development and sewing machines (industrial machines, sergers, coverstitch, and blindstitch) will be provided; students must provide their own sewing kit and fabric for sewing projects. A shopping list will be provided.
