Spring is almost here and Culture After Dark at the Johnson County Arts and Heritage Center is a great way to get your friends together and start remembering what it’s like to leave the house when there’s no snow on the ground! Our third installment of Culture After Dark will take place on Thursday, March 12 from 6-8:30pm. At Culture After Dark music and socializing are always free; food and special programs are available for a small fee. The evening starts at 5:30 when the Sancho Street Side food truck arrives; Pick up a bite to eat and grab a table with your friends in the Creative Commons before the live music starts with a performance by Woody Pines starting at 6pm. Once you’re done socializing explore some more of our Creative Commons by perusing the JCAHC’s Home School Art Class exhibit celebrating National Youth in Art month. Culture After Dark has more to offer throughout the evening! If the music gets you in the mood to dance then our Square Dancing class from 7-8pm ($5/participant) is just the thing for you! Or if the homeschool art exhibit has inspired your inner artist, you can drop into Adult Open Art Studio where we provide you with paint, canvases, paper, clay, and anything else you need to create all the art you heart desires in our relaxing, safe, and encouraging studio environment ($10/participant). The Johnson County Museum will stay open for the entire Culture After Dark evening, including Kidscape and the Savages and Princesses exhibit (Adults $6, Seniors $5, Children $4). Grab your friends and join us After Dark on March 12th from 6-8:30pm for an evening of socializing, discovery, laughter, and learning.
