United Colors is excited to present a solo exhibition by Kiki Serna. In her studio practice she explores the origins of the Spanish word “fantasma” which explores the meaning of appearing: to make visible, to reflect, to shine. Kiki Serna explores her immigrant experience and cultural identity by using this concept and its deeper meaning. Fantasmas analyzes the multilayered concepts of home, absence, opacity, visibility, and fragmented memories.
