LV Arts at the Park is a one-day arts festival that will merge creativity, education, and entertainment throughout the park. This year’s theme, “The Cat’s Pajamas: Spirit of the 20’s,” will be evident throughout the park with music, large 2D art displays, and arts activities. Our large stage will host surrounding performing arts groups like community bands, choirs, theater groups, dance troupes, and our featured artist, Back Alley Brass Band. Calls for artists to participate in our art contest and art fair are open through June 1 and June 15 respectively. LV Arts at the Park will host up to 20 regional artist booths. Our art contest features nine winners from nearby towns. Meander through the park to shop the art fair and to view all winning art works printed on large 4.5×6′ screens. Art-making opportunities for all ages and abilities will be offered throughout the day. Kids are invited to travel through time in our guided imaginative play scenarios, such as a jazz band adventure: a band finds their way through a bustling city just in time for their grand stage performance. Most art-making activities will be centered around the theme, “The Cat’s Pajamas: Spirit of the 20’s.” Join us as we explore cubism, surrealism, and much more. Create found poetry with works from poets and literary legends of the 1920’s. See you at the park!
