Movement. Form. Color. Geometry: Abstracts from the Heartland

This exhibit features the works of Catherine Kirkland and Carol Tinklepaugh.

In this shared exhibit at the Tim Murphy Gallery, located in the Merriam Community Center, Catherine Kirkland and Carol Tinklepaugh present their collections of abstract paintings. Catherine’s paintings are primarily hard-edged abstracts, some with intricate dot patterns creating movement and form, though most of her works in this exhibit are from her Zorn palette series, created muted earth tones with metallic accents. Carol’s works are lively and colorful, with expressive brushwork creating impressionistic florals and exuberant bursts of vivid hues. Due to COVID19 gathering concerns, there will be no opening reception.
