Rockhurst’s Musica Sacra Chorus and Orchestra performs to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation.
The concert will feature works by Johann Sebastian Bach and George Frideric Handel. Four of Kansas City’s premier vocal soloists— Grammy-winning soprano Sarah Tanehill Anderson, mezzo-soprano Kelly L. Birch, tenor David Adams and baritone Raymond Feener—will join the Musica Sacra Chorus and Orchestra in a performance of Bach’s Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott (A Mighty Fortress Is Our God). Bach based his work on the chorale attributed to Martin Luther.
