Based on Rosa Guy’s “My Love, My Love, or the Peasant Girl,” which was inspired by “The Little Mermaid,” Once on this Island is from the Tony Award-winning songwriting team of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Seussical, Ragtime, Anastasia).
