Opening Reception Proyecto: ID “Project: ID” – A Solo Exhibition by Abel Monagas Alfonso

Join us for the opening reception of the exhibit Project: ID an Abel Monagas Alfonso Solo Exhibition. Abel Monagas Alfonso is an exceptionally talented hyperrealistic painter based in Havana, Cuba. He pushes the bounds of hyperrealism with playfulness and creativity not limiting himself to static still lifes, but challenging contemporary norms with playfulness and pestilent seriousness. In this series of ID portraits the artist presents personal paintings of his grandmother and other ID portraits addressing violence, politics, and the human condition through his skillful use of the brush.
