Visiting Scholar Lecture: Director of the Museum of Contemporary Religious Art at SLU

As Rockhurst University begins the year with a theme of “Finding God in All Things,” Rev. Terrence E. Dempsey, S. J., is set to speak about how the Ignatian imagination plays a role in finding God in the art of our time.

Fr. Dempsey is the founding director of the Museum of Contemporary Religious Art at Saint Louis University, and his talk will draw primarily on the art exhibited at MOCRA. In addition, he will bring several of these pieces, which will be displayed in Arrupe Hall.

Sponsored by Rockhurst’s Visiting Scholar Lecture Series and the Office of Mission and Ministry, the lecture will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 18, in Arrupe Hall auditorium. A reception will follow the lecture. To register for this free event, call 816-501-4828. Free parking is available in the garage at 52nd Street and Troost Avenue or in lots accessed through the 54th Street entrance.
