Story In Color

The exhibition STORY IN COLOR features work by Cynthia Bjorn, a contemporary painter who uses incredibly fine brushes to create modern, intensely layered paintings. 

Bjorn has a fascination with mark making.  Using the painting’s surface as a metaphor for conversation, she layers fine strokes of paint until a statement that captures her intention and intuitive voice emerges. Bjorn’s process is highly meditative as she slowly builds each composition before applying a precise coat of resin. The process of applying resin freezes her meditation in process imbuing each piece with its own personality and emotional energy.
