Paula Hauser Leffel

I paint the Still Life in oil on canvas.  I feel a sense of joy in my work which I try to convey with my compositions and colors, usually from an up-close perspective.  In setting up my composition, I am concerned with the forms, spatial tensions and colors of what I see before me.  I love the colors of the fruit juxtaposed with colorful Jacquard cloths and chosen dishes and pots.

Still Life provides an inexhaustible source of inspiration. I paint with lightfast oils in strong colors. My canvas sizes are 12×12 to 30×40. I usually paint around the sides to allow a continuous impression when viewed hung on a wall.
